Purple Season…

Today I had a rather productive learning day… first I went on a little walk and took photos with my 50mm macro lens testing out a little diffuser that I attached to the built-in flash. Then I relearned how to use presets in Lightroom. Then I learned a new-to-me way to make collages in Photoshop. I’m really happy with how it all turned out. I also checked the Apple Visual Lookup on my phone to see what these flowers might be, they all seemed believable.

My apartment complex seems to have an abundance of pink flowering bushes, I think they are called Indian Hawthorn… and on the other side of the fence in the valley, they seem to all be yellow (see my last post)… so I went looking for flowers that weren’t pink or yellow.

My husband and I call this time of year Purple Season, because whenever we drive around we see all the purple flowers seem to be blooming at the same time…

All the collages can be clicked on to see them bigger… also all the flower name headings are a link to the Wikipedia page about them.

Trailing Shrubverbena

Sea Lavender

My husband and I always called these purple brains, because they grow in clumps that look like brains. Apparently, they are sea lavender…

Pride of Madeira

Lavender

I don’t know if I was brave or stupid… probably stupid… I was using a 50mm lens and I’m afraid of bees… but I got some bee shots anyway…

Lantana

I realized that all my photos were of purple flowers, so I took some photos of red & orange…

Bottlebrush

Until next time…
