About

trainWho am I?

I am a freelance photographer specializing in nature photos with an emphasis on macro.  That’s the official answer.

The more in-depth answer is, I am passionate about photography.  I thrive in technical, mathematical, logical, organizational, artistic, and even handy (as in handyman) situations.  I found that photography blends all of those things in a way that fits my personality perfectly.  I have just completed a two-year photography certificate program and am just starting out in this career (June 2013).

Why this blog?

I wanted a venue where I could talk about all things photography.  Things I’m experimenting with, giving little tutorials on something I thought others would also find interesting, showcasing my photos, and giving updates about my online store.  I also want to talk about things I’m photographing, like bees, hummingbirds, flowers, trains, shapes in the sand, seals at the beach, my dog… etc.

My goal is to post at least once a week, although I’d love to post three times a week if my schedule will allow it.  In the beginning, my posts will probably be less than three times a week as I continue to set up the online store.  In addition, my goal is to put up a tutorial once a week… do I have that much to talk about?  I hope so!  All I know is that I love talking about photography, and so I’m going to talk about what I love on this blog.

What do I want from my viewers?

Yes, I do want something from you.  Comments, feedback, questions!

How to contact me…

The best way to contact me is by leaving a comment on this blog.  I’ll get an email letting me know that someone has commented.  All comments are approved by me before they publish, so if you don’t see it appear right away, no worries, I’ll publish it with my reply.  You can leave general questions here on the about page, or more specific questions about a particular post on the post itself.  I’ll get them either way.

That about wraps it up.  I am looking forward to sharing my love of photography with you!

Until next time…
