Creative Cup Overflowing…

Hey guys!

As I told you last post, I recently joined a new group full of creatives… this week I signed up for a bunch of classes both live and prerecorded and was calling the week ‘Creative Con’ in my head.

I had a great time this week, I attended sooooo many classes! Many of the classes I attended were draw along, some were Q&A sessions, some were presentations, but all were fun and informative.

I made a little collage of my artwork this week… I’ll need to rewatch the dragon drawing class, I got a bit behind and so my dragon isn’t finished… yet. One of the prerecorded classes I took was about finding your signature style, we answered questions that led us to making a signature palette and figuring out our favorite media… then I drew a ‘container’ with a limited palette (based on the one I created) with the favorite media, I drew a tea pot… because tea is in my veins.

Drawing the inky iris was a lot of fun, I haven’t drawn many flowers that are realistic, but I love the ink and partially rendered watercolor look. I also took a prerecorded class that taught how to draw cute bears… so much fun. Now I need to take all that I learned and try to apply it, and put my own spin on it.

It’s fun to draw along, the hard part is figuring out how to do those things you learned in class without being prompted the whole time… that’s where the real trial and error learning comes in… and I’m looking forward to spending the weekend trying out some new stuff.

Until next time…
