Guys, I have bad news…

When I looked at the cave this morning, this afternoon, and this evening… it looks empty…

I do have some good news though, I have two more days worth of footage to go thru. So there’s that.

I was reading the Wikipedia page only a few days ago, and I thought I had maybe another week before the owlets would start to fly. But maybe they tried to fly and couldn’t make it back up to the cave last night? I’ll keep looking for them, they are probably in the trees down below the cave, but it’s pretty thick leaves down there, so I’m not sure what I’ll be able to see.

But this might be it… a few more posts and then I’m out of owl footage. Well, it was fun while it lasted.

For now, let me show you what I have left in my collection.

On this day (only 4 days ago), Mama Owl was off to the side giving the owlets quite a bit of freedom and independence… so much so that I was starting to get worried, because she didn’t move for a good 10-15 minutes while I was recording. But finally she moved, and I breathed a sigh of relief.

Since I’m still pretty new to editing video, I took a look at the iMovie manual and figured out how to do the ‘Ken Burns Effect’ on this video, I hope you enjoy it. It’s pretty cute, the owlet is practicing stretching and standing up taller…

I have two more days of owl footage to go thru, I should get to it.
