February was a bit of fun, I started the transition to give up added sugar. Had a headache for several days, but eventually, I was able to reduce my sugar in my tea, give up cookies and other desserts. I switched my bread to have much fewer added sugar grams per slice. All of this was in hopes that it would mitigate my hot flashes, it seemed to work. So over the last several months I continued reducing my added sugars. Now I don’t add sugar to my tea at all, I don’t add it to my nearly daily oats either. We switched to only two kinds of cereal, and they are very low in added sugars. Lara bars and fruit are my friend. I still have sugar cravings, but I don’t give in to them by eating cookies, I reach for Lara bars or fruit now. Also I’ve lost about 10 lbs, so yay me.
