Hey guys!
It has been a heartbreaking couple of weeks, and I just don’t have the words other than a loud #BlackLivesMatter!!
I’m angry, sad, disgusted, horrified, overwhelmed… I find that I cannot look away from the news. For the most part, I’ve tried to keep this blog light. But when I think about blogging, I feel like it isn’t the appropriate time, the sufferings of the day/week/era need to be expressed and my little corner of the blogverse where I show-and-tell some pup photos and some art, feels impotent. And so I’ve been watching and sometimes crying while staring at the news.
Weeks have passed, and I haven’t drawn or photographed much, but then I watched something from Tabitha Brown, where she reminds us that sometimes you have to take care of yourself, so that you can take care of others.

Have you seen any of Tabitha Brown’s videos on twitter or tictok? She is such a shining beacon of light and love, she makes me smile and cry at the same time. I originally found her because I too am vegan, and I was curious about her quick vegan recipe videos on tictok, and what I found was so much more. If you have a minute, check her out and feel the love. Tabitha Brown (@IamTabithaBrown)
I guess what I’m saying is, yes, the world feels like a trash fire right now, but it is OK to take a break to recharge and to feel good for just a second before going back out to fight the fires. I’m no Tabitha Brown, but I do have some really cute pups and some nice art to look at.
Speaking of the pups… they had their 3-year Gotcha Day Anniversary this week, it was a hot day, so instead of baking them a banana cake, I made them banana ice cream! I took a couple of frozen banana chunks, blended them with just a bit of water to get them to the consistency of ice cream, then added peanut butter and blended a bit longer — YUM! They LOVED it!! 🙂 I didn’t take photos unfortunately, because I was just spooning it into their food dishes and waited for them to ask for more. It was a hit. 🙂 Happy Birthday Pups!
I do have photos of them sleeping cutely…
Also, we saw a roadrunner one day! Then a few days later I saw it again! I know the photos are kinda crap, but it’s a cell phone and the roadrunner is far in the distance, so zooming in on him kinda makes for not great photography. “Captured, but not perfect is better than not captured at all” — said no great photographer ever.
I have a couple of drawing pictures, but I’m not feeling the show-and-tell of it right now, maybe in a few days. Until then, take care of yourself.
That’s all I have for now.
Stay safe everyone! And wash your hands! 🙂
Until next time…
