Inktober 2018 – Tootsie Pop

Last year, when I drew this monster, it didn’t go over well. I was thinking about sea crabs, and somehow my husband only saw a parasite, like a tick. I must have also been struggling for a candy-based name, because I also named it Tootsie Pop. ?!? Clearly the shape should have reminded me of a Hersey’s Kiss… but whatever, that was last year.

Today, I decided to give Tootsie/Kiss different arms and legs. Since the eyes were robot like, I decided to stay with that theme and give him robot arms and legs. I guess they are suction cup feet? And grab-it hands.

I had a bit of trouble with the eyes, so I got out two dog tennis balls and used them as reference.

Since I spent quite awhile trying to figure out what Toots would look like from the side… I decided to do that view for the dip ink.

Also, I started out like the last two days, warming up with a bit of Zentangle…
