Tonight I played around with two of my cameras for about an hour and a half. I was lucky enough to be able to witness the eclipse from my balcony. Which was great because I kept running inside to grab more equipment. Originally, I was just using my Nikon in Moon Scene mode, but soon the Moon was not bright enough for the auto focus to register it….
So I ran inside and grabbed my Canon with my 75-300mm lens and tripod (and eventually my remote). I was able to use manual focus… which was kinda hard since the moon was so dim… there was also some cloud cover (it’ll rain later tonight), so I’m not sure if the softness of these are from focus or clouds…
It was fun to ‘be a photographer’ again… it’s been way too long!
Until next time…

Fabulous photos – I was lazy and went to bed 🙂
I’m in San Diego, it was only 8pm when I started taking photos. If I had been on the East Coast, I wouldn’t have stayed up either. 🙂
