Inktober (Day 14)…

I’ve decided to do Inktober this month. 😀  Find out more about Inktober, here. Basically it’s a month long encouragement to draw every day.

Today I decided to incorporate both the official prompt list and the zentangle prompt list.

Today’s prompts were Fierce and the tangle Flukes

Closeup…

I had a lot of fun with this one! 😀  When I saw today’s prompts and looked up the tangle Flukes, I thought of SNL’s Land Shark, with the tangle Flukes as the teeth.  Sharks are definitely Fierce, right?  Then I thought of the Saturday Morning Cartoon shark, JabberJaw… so I looked up ‘how to draw a shark’ and came across this link, and I think he turned out really cute.  The teeth weren’t large enough to really get the feel of the tangle Flukes, so I made it the background too.  I did get lost a few times, but in the end I think it worked out really well.  I’m usually not a big fan of grid tangle patterns because they are often so organized and clean, whereas I’m drawn to the more organic and flowing tangle patterns.  So I was a little worried that my lines weren’t going to be straight enough, but I think with the whimsical shark the odd lines actually work together really well…

A Little Preview of Day 13’s tile…

I ran out of time yesterday, I did start the tile but it is pretty intricate… this is as far as I got last night…

This is as far as I got today before I put it aside to work on the shark tile…

My hope is that I’ll finish this and be able to post it tonight… fingers crossed. 😀

Until next time…
