I’ve decided to do Inktober this month. 😀  Find out more about Inktober, here. Basically it’s a month long encouragement to draw every day.

Today I decided to incorporate both the official prompt list and the zentangle prompt list.

Today’s prompts are Sword and Ponio…

It took me awhile to come up with something for the prompt Sword, I didn’t want to draw an actual sword… I tried looking up the word to get a different meaning out of it, I looked at the Suite of Swords in Tarot Cards meanings… eventually I started looking at what others had done by looking at twitter #inktober.  I saw a couple of images of a Narwhal, which was probably for the underwater prompt, but I decided that was stabby, I mean swordy, enough for me.  Also I knew there was a zentangle pattern called Narwal, so it seemed like a perfect solution to pair it with Ponio…

I remembered to take photos throughout the process so you can see the line drawing and how with shading, auras, and adding that spiderweb like design, I kept making the pattern pop out more…
