This week’s Zentangle Diva Challenge (#311) is “Circle Square String Theory”, which is, basically make circles and squares as your string and then have fun. 🙂
Initially when I drew out my string I had visions of the 80’s, perhaps it was an album cover? or a print on a shirt? I don’t know, and when I asked my husband about it, he couldn’t figure out what I was trying to describe. Oh, well… it ended up going in a completely different direction anyway, so it doesn’t really matter. I had so many tangle patterns in the first tile and I had intended to take a photo before I added the coloring to make it look like a gem, but I forgot — excited to try out creating a gem. On the one hand, it covers up quite a bit of the work (being that the gem turned out so dark), but it also made it look less busy, so I guess it all worked out in the end.
I really liked the idea of adding the gem, so I started another tile this time purposely trying to alter the pattern that would be under the gem, and I chose lighter colors for the gem so that you could see the patterns underneath. My husband said it looked like dripped honey. 🙂
Hope everyone had a nice weekend, my husband had Friday off so I ended up not getting to the computer all weekend, opting instead to hang out with him. So my entry is late.
Also, as usual, I practiced some tangles on my husband’s mug… 🙂
Until next time…
