Oh wow, I was just informed that today is my 7 year anniversary with WordPress. ūüėÄ Boy has my life had some twists and turns in the last 7 years. Hmmm… something to think about.

Anyway the reason I sat at the keyboard today to blog was to write about something that I love… tentacles! But I’m getting ahead of myself…

A few years back I was introduced to the wonderful world of H.P. Lovecraft. I admit that I’ve only read The Call of Cthulhu and The Dunwich Horror… and if I’m honest, I think I saw The Call of Cthulhu as a movie rather than read the story… ¬†but I have been immersed in the Cthulhu Mythos in so many things I read, play, and encounter. ¬†We have so many games based on the Cthulhu Mythos. ¬†We have also given our fair share to help fund various Kickstarters in that realm. ¬†One Kickstarter in particular inspired me this week, Mythos Monsters. ¬†I received an update with some of the artwork¬†and I was in love with one piece in¬†particular. ¬†I loved the suckers on the tentacles of this piece of art.

And so, I set to creating a tangle using the patterns in the artwork as inspiration. ¬†I started out with String 212, and then played around with variations on some tangle patterns I knew and things that inspired me within the artwork… Enjoy…

This¬†was drawn in my Art Journal… I took a 3.5 inch square and marked out some guidelines then drew with pencil and pen.

I wanted to give back… I’ve been tangling with other people’s tangles as I learn this art of zentagle… I created a variation on Holey (Totally Tangled, p.32) for my tentacle suckers, it only took 4 steps, so I created a step-out for anyone who might be interested…

Until next time…
