We are in the process of adding new furniture (and building it… Ikea) and rearranging our stuff.  I came across a couple of our old digital cameras and I thought it would be fun to see how they fared to my current camera (and skills).

First I found a teeny tiny camera, then I found what I believe was our first digital camera…

• The teeny tiny camera is a Sony Cybershot DSC-W100, with 8.1 Megapixels and a Carl Zeiss lens.  It has a few manual options (which I didn’t know how to use back then), it only has two aperture values f/2.8 & f/5.6 (which shift, if you use zoom, to f/5.2 & f/10 respectively).
• Our first digital camera is a Sony Cybershot DSC-P51 with 2.0 Megapixels.  It is all automatic and actually ran on two AA batteries.  Oh and the LCD display is like a 1 inch square – heehee.

As far as I can tell I stopped using the P51 camera around early 2007.  It wasn’t the greatest in low light and photos often needed a boost in GIMP but still left a lot of noise.  Also the largest image resolution was 1600x1200px… but we have some great memories from that camera (miss you Floofy)…

Once we bought the W100 camera, low light wasn’t as big of a problem, but I still didn’t know about the Exposure Triangle and only used the auto functions.  The image resolution was better at 3264x2448px.  It was used often to capture great memories (miss you Little-bit)…

I used it this week on manual mode to take a photo of a snail…

I’m off to squeeze my Sweet Girl, I’m suddenly feeling rather cuddly.
